At work we use http://www.malwarebytes.org/ the free version to help remove stuff from computers, it had proven thus far to catch 98% of everything we have thrown at it.

As an IT Desktop support Technician, I agree fully agree with the statement of Booting into Safe Mode to run whatever Anti-Virus Programs you have.
There are several free programs out there that can help assist you if you are still unable to remove it.

Restore Point = a No No until you remove the virus / malware. (it can and will follow you)

Yes to malwarebytes... NO to avg! unistall it! Obviously it will not keep you from getting a virus and takes a lot of resources on your computer.. AVG is malware, imo...

If your machine is 32 bit, you can use combofix.
That has been a great program. Another idea, is install nod32, use it in trial mode to get rid of the virus.

I ran AVG in safemode and it seemed to fix it.
