I have been on this forum long before ever owning a Ford or A Mustang. lol. I don't have some sort of blind following of a particular automaker. Sorry to disappoint.

I swear.. it says it right there, even in our quote from me.
Even worse is the fact that after the dust settled in that contest.. unless U are in denial.. THE VETTE CLEARLY WON
Looks like R&T got the desired response they were looking for from a few uptight vette owners LMAO. Be happy, more reason to give u guys more power in the upcoming years, god knows you need it.... So just relax, nothing to blow a blood vessel over, it's part of the cycle........ pretend like the article was never printed...

Leveling the playing field by adding parts until you reach the same price for both cars? That's what you were doing, and that is what I done by my civic comment. I thought it was pretty simple too.

The Z51 is just a base C6 with just a suspension upgrade? 12.8 sec @ 113.5 mph ...

Funny.. as with many Mustangs, those numbers seem very hard to duplicate more than one in a MAG.

YUP.. that driver musta been toked of that bad shit U've been smokin.

OH WAIT... U found the one article in the LS3 powered Vette's history that had shitty numbers coming from an obviously un-broken vehicle. Aug 2007.. the vehicle itself had literally just hit the lots.

Here's CAR AND DRIVER's SPEC SHEET for the 2008 Corvette Z51.

1/4 in 12.4@116
0-60 in 4.0
0-100 in 9.2

Click on the link and see another one from a different date where the numbers remain pretty much the same

JUST KILLING YOUR SILLY ASS ARGUMENT

I beat Car and Driver's best time of 12.4@117 my first night out at the track with my 2011 GT500 PP running 12.3@119. This was also my first time drag racing a RWD car, let alone one with 550hp and 20" tires in the summer.

I don't know why your under the impression that it's "very hard to duplicate" magazine times in a 2011 GT500. The average GT500 owner/driver/racer is a hell of a lot better at sending these 550hp, 3,751lb cars down the 1/4 track on stock 20's then these granny shifting magazine testers.

"Granny Shifting", Toretto is that you? As in Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) from Fast and the Furious. Oh man, can't wait for the "I live my life a quater mile at a time". Someone end this thread.

In the SPRINT (0-60) The Vette beats the GT500 despite having 114 less HP.
In the 0-100 they equal
In the 1/4 the Vette gets there first
In Top Speed.. the Vette Continues on an additional 45 MPH after the MUstang is left gasping for air on the side of the road.

IN Braking the Vette Beats it...

Only on the Skid pad does what is essentially the Low end Vette lose to the TOP END Mustang.

Hell This happened last time before Ford upgraded the GT500 with an extra 10 ponies.

2) The Vette apparently competes with everything.. since Magazines like Road and Track went so far as to compare it with a lowly Mustang. If it will make U feel any better, they did the same thing last month by putting the Proletarian two door super-charged coupe up against a Bourgeois Luxo s/c Coupe (which gets the same numbers as my Sedan) and the Luxo Coupe BEAT THE SHIT outta the Ford. Weighing several hundred pounds more no less.

3) The Difference in these 2 specific cars is irrelevant since the Grand Sport tested is optioned out the ass. Take a BASE Vette at $48,950 and do the same test with the GT500 at $48,645 and the results would have been damn near the same. The GS has some upgrades but it's true differences lie in the looks and suspension. Pretty much a Wide Body Z51 with Launch control.

4) Bullshit. and to be honest.. the Z28 is gonna bet the competitor to the GT500 anyway.. and then we'll see. The SS is a GT competitor and the SS beats it. The only place the Mustang currently beats the Camaro is in the area of V6s.. where the lighter Ford has the advantage of weight and gearing allowing for better times.

In the end tho... the as U can see... that gearing stops the V6 (113MPH)at speeds less than my old G6 could go.. while the Camaro continues on to 157MPH.

It's OK to swallow the bitter pill. I did it this past June with trading my 2010 Camaro SS for a 2011 Mustang GT. I could not be happier and don't regret my decision one bit. I also love my GT500. It is a great car and I look forward to lining up next to a few Vette's at the strip.

Since you are so willing to beliave everything printed in a mag, I wanted to ask how many times you have been to the strip to gather your own times. I think many of us here would like to see something to back-up your blowhard attitude.

Just did a quick search of common term"granny shift" to make it easier for you to insult all your fellow member's that use the term granny shift in their posts. Here's a few I found using the quick search feature. It inst like I said I need some nos BTW Vin Diesel is gay as in a homosexual so you may want to re-think before you go comparing the two.

Here's the video in question where at 0:35 you can see the granny shifting take place and its quit obvious given the GT500's 2.3 mph advantage.

^I saw it in theater's and remember the quote, but what kind of vocabulary would you use to describe and put down the shifting technique of said test driver's?

Exactly the same way Vin Diesel said it, the whole quote from that scene.
