lol, I just read it in a magazine a few hours ago.... Its italian for "Grand Touring Homologated"..... don't ask me what it means.

nope, actually the GTO name was originally a Ferrari (250 GTO) built in the early 60's. Pontiac used the name after Ferrari discontinued the model. Ferrari is now making a 599 GTO again...
