The point is what does the engine do in full production form. Most consumers, even us tuner/modifiers, want a kick-ass paltform we can enjoy the warranty on for a few years. That is what the LS3 is all about.

you will have to open your kia's engine up, thats the difference.

cobras have seen over 1000rwhp on the stock longblock.

Actually if you get on the Kenne bell website, you will see that with the mamoth intake you can acheive over 700 hp on the 4.6.thats with stock cams, heads and exaust.Of course if your planning to run that type of boost your gonna have to upgrade your internals.Im sure you would be running 20+ pounds of boost to acheive those levels. My point was the potiental of forced induction.

Hence "supporting mods". If you have to replace internals, especially in the bottom end, then it's not stock. Period.

Unless the stock cobra longblock is fully forged, I'm calling bs. There is just no way.

was it just me, or did that vette seem to be idling a bit rough? either way, can't wait to see what we are able to do with the 2SS (hoping we can still be in warrant).

Wow. From pistons to crank? Impressive. I guess Ford can do something right every now and then.

Hah! Unless you know the coolest dealership in the universe, you won't even get warranty after the cam. I know that many of you will argue, but I work at a dealership. I know what will and won't be covered. You would have to have a crazy good service writer to be able to fight insurance or GM over that one.

The only way it could be warrantied is if you worked something out with the service manager. He would probably want it installed in his shop if he was going to cover it though. At 90-120 dollars an hour labor, I can think of other places to spend that money.

Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I don't think Tag was implying to rebuild the engine and put boost to it...I think he was implying bolt-ons. And there's even some deeper mods that can be slipped in (cams).

Besides, if your alternator eats it and you have LT headers and a full exhaust, they will have to prove that your exhaust fried your alternator before they won't cover it...but I'm SURE you knew that...

I'm SURE you knew that I was talking about anything linked to the modification. Such as putting in a new cam and your engine comes in with a CEL because the timing was improperly adjusted.

nobody pointed it out because the gt500, like the 03/04 terminators comes with a dual overhead cam, 32v motor, not a single overhead cam

I'm an idiot. I assumed that since the 4.6 was sohc, their 5.4 was too.

Sorry Zebra.

Gotcha. You weren't very clear so wanted to make sure that was understood by all.
