It's that simple, what can YOU get out of the car not what others who drive for a living can. And let's face it most buyers of these cars are average to way below average when it comes to driving it how its meant to be. Point here is stop the Benchracing.
On average I put the Camaro and GT on equal ground.

Good thing gearing cures that.
Gearing can be optimized for either engine, so it's not going to give you an advantage in that case.

Dude..really?

Check the name of the sub-forum. Even us Mopar and Ford boys(and girls) keep our posts, usually, confined to the Camaro vs... and General Automotive+Other Cars discussion forum.

All you ever seem to do is bitch and complain about there being Mustang and Mopar owners on this site, even when we keep our posts in the proper area. If you want to furiously masturbate over your Camaro with others, go get a bunch, find a private garage and do so! The exclusionary bullcrap of "LOL THIS IS A CAMARO SITE LOL GTFO" is getting really freaking old, really fast!

The majority of us are polite and keep our arguments/posts/etc well reasoned and informative. Yes there are bad apples, but there are more than a few bad Camaro owners on this site also, same with Challenger owners with ChallengerTalk and Mustang owners with TheMustangSource. Now..if you dont mind, could we get back to discussing Muscle/Pony cars without a comment form the peanut gallery about how this is a Camaro site?

Danke!

The weight difference is how the lack of torque is cured. Besides, nobody races at 3,000 rpm.

ive been told that the 325 Ft-lbs rating was done using 87-octane. using premium gas nets you about another 10 hp and 10 ft-lb.

in my post i believe i stated it will be close for non 3.73 equipped GT's. the 3.55 equipped GT's should have an advantage as well.

I suspect what he is meaning is that stock for stock, the gearing on the Mustang can make up for the fact that it doesnt produce torque as quickly.

Once again, once the mods start, all bets are off because it becomes a checkbook war.

I think, with this second round of the Muscle Car/Pony Car wars..history is repeating itself. Kind of ironic really, the children of the "veterans" of the first wars are now fighting the second one.

I'm just waiting for everyone else to get in on this. The rest of the automotive market can't let chevy and ford run away from the pack like this. I think we'll be seeing some crazy cars in the next few years.

No doubt.

For an all out racer, like just drag or road racing, give me a high revving engine and let me gear the hell out of it.

Torque wouldn't make much difference at all after that.

Just sayin.

We don't need constant reminders. Find an existing thread and post your "new" stuff there.

That way I won't accuse you of being the Fanboy I know you aren't.

Cool?

I was about to be a 4th gen Z28 owner and had some bad personal/family/financial shit go down a few years ago.

I have owned at least one Chevy.

I love anything that is fast. But I grew up racing a 5.0 I loved. So yes I am very excited for the new 5.0s and they are blowing my mind. With the old 302s getting 400+rwhp took very exotic and not streetable shit in na form. Now looks like it can do it with bolt ons.

Very good times for car enthusiasts. Best time in muscle car history.
