And i think the Camaro posted some very respectable handling results in the Car&Driver comparo. I dont remember them right now, but i think they are better or right up there with the mustang handling.

Something like .92 compared to .95 on the skidpad.

Bro i hope you are being sarcastic!

The 5.0's numbers so far have been VERY respectable ... Very close to the Camaro's numbers indeed

Well we are about to start seeing how maxed out the 5.0 is:

Our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V (5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine Project Car) is getting strapped to the dyno as we speak..... How much power will it gain from the Off-Road X-Pipe, Catback Exhaust and a few minor tweaks to the Tune? Anyone that guesses the closest on the Rear Wheel Horsepower will receive a Free Evol...

I don't think you will see those kind of gains.

I am going to say 383-386. I would glad to be wrong though.

12.49 with some suspension stuff. not too bad. if the camaro can touch 12.6 stock this should be a good matchup
No, 12.4 was hit with MT tires, suspension, some tuning stuff (they imply it was minimal) and potentially exhaust work if it's the same car they modified the exhaust on.

They hit 12.8@111 without the MT tires.

I take it the car still had stock exhaust because they are saying they have the car on the dyno now after they did some exhaust work today.

Yeah maybe for only those mods you're right. But intake+tune+full exhaust(headers and H-pipe and cat back) should break the 400 rwhp mark.

You see i want things between the 5.0 and the SS to be comparable when the modding begins and not just while stock.

They're not very clear on when it was installed. On Thursday they say that they're going to dyno, weigh and then install the exhaust. I also believe they posted on Mustang Source talking about the install. Can't check because I'm on my phone and am far too lazy.

Yes they answered some questions people had on the exhaust. Comparing 2010 and earlier stangs to the 2011.

They didn't specifically say if they changed anything though.

Just today they are talking about changing the exhaust.

But yes they are very vague on some things.

im sure theres good power to be made with the 5.0 with boltons, but im pretty sure the 6.2 will have an advantage once aftermarket sized cams come into play. Though i think the DOHC 5.0 will respond better to boost than the LS3

Wow things got pretty off-topic here (and i contributed to that-sorry)!

I think that the discussion about the 5.0 and what it ran should be in the "Real world results of the '11 5.0" thread thats in the general cars section..
