Yes the American factory worker has been & continues to be the whipping boy for so long now.Spoiled, under worked, overpaid, and not worthy of the benefits that they have received in the past.
Well gentlemen thing are a changing. All jobs, even professional ones are slowly but systematically being outsourced to the cheapest labor market where ever that might be.Non union states, overseas, etc. There is no stopping it now.Engineering,Graphic design, xray techs, and many other functions are all slowly be shipped out of the country.Salaries for all even those college educated will be far less in the future along with reduced benefits.Doctors, bakers, professionals of all kinds and non-professionals income will suffer as a result of this.In the future all Americans will be effected by this trend.A Lower standard of living for all eventually. As more and more individuals go to and graduate from college they will be competing for fewer and fewer jobs.Which will lead to reduced pay scales. The American dream is going away.Never to return in the same way ever again. The only way to spread the wealth around the world to poor countries is to raise their standard of livings so that they can buy the products that they cannot initially afford.Where does that wealth come from but thru redistribution of wealth of the prosperous nations to those areas of the world whom will work for slave wages under the worst conditions for the least amount of return on their labor.Want to compete? There is your competition.Get out there and compete.

Lets change the direction of this thread a bit How are the wages from UAW workers compared to are rivals non union that work in the workers? Surprisingly ... I only heard/read that the big 3 only have this problem regarding workers. .... as far as I know the Germans, the Asians, and the Japanese never had this issue

I think the reasoning behind my reasoning may have something to do with my age (24). I don't even think my father was born when the term was widely used in a derogatory manner. But like i said, some people still get offended, so I don't use the term in public.

Wikipedia agrees with you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japs
In Singapore[9] and Hong Kong,[10] the term is used freely as a contraction of the adjective "Japanese". The Australian news service Asia Pulse also uses the term.[11] In 1970, the Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada opened the "Jungle Jap" boutique in Paris.[12] In Japan itself, most Japanese are apathetic about the term, according to a 2004 study.[1]

Oh god, like wikipedia is ever a credible source. =p
I just dont see any aggression or hostillity behind the word Jap personally. Unless you prefix it with something else but anything can be twisted like that. |
