seriously, i agree. i dont want the mustang out selling and/or performing the camaro. cos you know what happened last time. the camaro took a big sleep for 7 years. 7 long years.

Honestly...it's a tad quicker stock for stock. How many folks, who actually race their cars on the track, go to the track stock? At least a CAI or exhaust is on there...at a minimum!

I understand the stock for stock bragging rights...but if you want to go faster then make it faster!

Everyday there will be something faster and newer! At this point to me at least...it's a preference of what someone likes best...
Someone always has deeper pockets.....LOL

I highly doubt it with all these cars on hand.

I really don't see a business reason why Ford wants to underrate the new GT. Perhaps they're going for the underdog approach, considering that the average undecided buyer will base some of his decision on HP numbers alone. If I was Ford, I'd want every advantage on paper comparison.

I know why. It's called the 99 Cobra. Ford has been doing it with the Mustang ever since.

Well, Ford could still be a bit shy after having been bitten by the Cobra debacle back in 2001. And it is worth noting that Ford did not SAE certify the outgoing GT, so this new one may not be SAE certified either.

They don't want chevy to up the camaro by to much. So, it would make sense to list the power as lower. Plus they already got in trouble in 99 for listing a car with more HP then it had.

which, off topic, i think chevy should have done somethng about the whole fuse pull debacle of underperforming L99's. there are probably more L99 camaro's out there than there are 99 cobras.

"The six-speed automatic surprised and pleased as well. We had the opportunity to test one on a short drag strip alongside a Camaro SS also equipped with a six-speed automatic. With firm quick up-shifts we clicked off a 8.60 second 1/8 mile run in the 2011 Mustang GT with a top speed of 86.70 mph. Our fastest 1/8 mile run in the 2010 Camaro SS was a much slower 9.58 seconds at 80.14 mph. The Camaro by comparison felt sluggish and heavy with a sloppier shifting transmission."

They only got a 9.58 out of the L99? I would say they have a horribly prepped track, but the GT managed to pull a decent time. Maybe they got a L99 that needed the fuse pull?
