the next question would probably be: What kind of economic impact does NASA provide our country? the budget for 2010 is proposed at $18.7 billion, that may seem like a small number compared to the entire nations budget, however $18.7 billion could almost repair our wetlands here in LA... i don't have a problem with NASA, it's just we cannot continue to support our world empire, bail out companies, fund 2 wars, and prop up wall street... |

One of the medical inventions came through space. There is such a thing as space electronics, that can only be achieved in a zero gravity. These electronics have been used for implantable heart defibrillators. How about another biggie... Digital Imaging .. AKA ... MRI, CAT Scan, Ultrasound all these came from space research .... So I'd say millions of lives have been saved with just what I've mentioned ..... And that doesn't include all the medical laser stuff that comes from the same programs ..... The thing about the water, is the fact that our moon will be capable of supporting life ....

Big NASA project = lots of jobs, new technologies. Another point: Earth is home to roughly 6 billion humans, a number growing by about 100 million each year. Its going to get crowded (barring some huge global disaster, which is just another reason to colonize other planets), so where are we going to fit everyone? Don't believe me? Go take a look at Japan or China, see how crowded things are there. I was stationed in Okinawa for 2 years, it was a year and a half before I came back stateside for leave, and everything back in the US seemed HUUUUUGE and spread out!
Excuse the rambling, but my point is: Perfecting space flight and colonizing the moon/mars/whatever else we can find is humanity's only hope for long term survival. Most people are too short sighted these days to give a crap (If its not going to benefit ME in MY lifetime, why do I care?) Its that attitude that will stifle scientific breakthroughs.

There is already a base on the moon, you just can’t see it from earth.
We have known about it since the first journey there. Its why we went first, to claim ownership. Some of it is dodododo but the reflections in the helmet which are real NASA pic [before JPL started to edit them] are 100% unexplainable if the moon is a baren rock an no one was there but us. http://www.enterprisemission.com/mphotos.html ![]() And give the site lots of credit as they knew water was on Mars 30 years before NASA would “admit it”. The stuff on “Hyperdimensional Physics” will tickle the fancy of the Physics lovers. Great read even if some of it is hard to grasp. http://www.enterprisemission.com/physics.html http://www.enterprisemission.com/hyper1.html |

No, I think you`re OK, political discussion to me are alright, it`s the political arguments that are problematic. Some people seem to think when a subject get close to being political they see an opening and it`s their opportunity to throw a shot at which ever political party they disagree with.

I am wondering that too ![]() A bit about the author for the site of: http://www.enterprisemission.com The site authors bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_C._Hoagland I am all for space exploration and going to the moon, but that guy seems to be a bit out of the ballpark Of course once you start to think like that, you have to wonder how far does the rabbit hole actually go.

How do you know that there wouldn't have been better stuff had we not just leaned on NASA and been satisfied with it? Quote:
