What they going to do, redesign the exterior too? That's what is really needed.

I personally think the RAMCHARGER changes the game some.

I find it interesting that the Wagoneer S is listed as a 2024 and not a 2025. And the price is not awful considering.

Nice pics, but not sure what's what...lol

Buick Wildcat Concept.
Cadillac Optiq - Production. Similar in size to Chevrolet Equinox EV
Cadillac Vistiq - Production intent. Similar in size to XT6
Cadillac Escalade IQ - Production
Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept

(I only see two out of the five listed..??)

I'd choose the Buick Wildcat for best looking car...(It would make a great looking 7thGen Camaro...with an ICE, of course...lol)

The Dodge Charger looks like a butcher job. Nice try with the retro front, but it looks bad. Reminds me of the 5thGen mod front clip of a '68 or '69...just doesn't look right.

I didn’t post pics of the Optiq, Vistiq or Escalade IQ. They are all in production and pics are available everywhere. The Wildcat and Opulent Velocity are identified on their stands.

Also closest to eventual production form than the Halcyon or the Opulent Velocity.

My theory is that skateboard architectures plus no need to play games with EPA / NHTSA definitions of Truck vs Car for CAFE calculation could spell the resurgence of expressive coupe and sedan styling. We’ll see which (if any) automakers agree with me.

Consumer Electronics Show

In my first (of many) brain farts of 2025 I managed to post pics from the NAIAS before posting about CES. I spent about 4 hours at NAIAS and there were no presentations or conferences around any of the vehicles. I spent 4 days at CES, attended press conferences for many of the vehicles and got to speak to multiple experts. Should’ve posted about that first. Here’s a few of the highlights.

Sony Honda Mobility officially released the first vehicle from their JV. The Afeela 1. The picture is actually from 2023 CES. No difference in the vehicle as released except for 2 more smaller ugly lidar blisters on the roof just above the windshield for the production car. Pricing was announced at $89,900 for one trim level. $102,900 for the other trim.

There was also the Zeekr 001FR. This is probably the car most in this thread would consider above any of the others. 1,265 hp. 100 kWh battery. Quad motor setup with two motors on each axle. 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 2.02s.

Honda also introduced two production intended concepts (separate from Sony). No names for them beyond Honda 0 (zero…as in emissions) Saloon (Sedan in other parts of the world) and SUV. Honda 0 is the umbrella name for their intended line of zero emissions vehicles (BEV and/or Fuel Cell EV) beyond their current collaboration with GM that produces Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX.

Finally there was the Aptera. A 3-wheeled solar powered oddity. Basically looks like a helicopter that lost its propellers. Funny story about the Aptera. A colleague and I were having lunch at a restaurant just outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Aptera Solar pulled up and parked outside the window of the restaurant. I took out my Google Pixel 9 phone and took the picture of the Aptera that is in this post. About 10 minutes later, I turned on my iPad, used my iPhone as a hotspot and opened YouTube. The first video “suggested” for me was the Aptera reveal at CES. Since Google owns YouTube I believe that my taking the picture with a Google phone pushed it to my YouTube viewing. Can’t escape.

Yeah, too bad it's an EV. It'd be cool with a mid-engine LT V8. Supercharge it and call it the "Nailhead".

The Buick Wildcat is very nice. It looks like a car, and it has one of my favorite features: chrome trim!

The body lines aren't overly and unnecessarily busy like the other models.

The expressive coupe Camaro was needlessly killed off as an unpopular design, but now of course that "expressive coupes" come out as EVs, they are touted as awesome...Oops!...lol

I don’t recall any suggestion that design had anything to do with killing Camaro. Most liked the LOOK of the design. The FUNCTIONALITY of the design was questionable and pushed some people out of the market. Trunk opening size, back seats, visibility. Some of those things are fixed with a skateboard architecture.

Build the damn Wildcat and put a V6 in that puppy.

Offer a GN package - triple black with a turbo V6.

Make Buick Buick again.
