Car and Driver shoot out.

I just read the Car and Driver Track meet article.

I was interested by a couple of developments in this article. One of the things that suprised me was how poorly the SRT8 challenger faired. I don't think it will be much of a challenge for the Camaro stock vs. stock. They raced all the cars at Virginia International Raceway and the Cobalt beet the Challenger by posting a 3:13 lap while the Challenger only managed 3:16.3. Also of not the Z51 optioned Corvette lapped at 3:01.2 vs 2:55.6 for the GT-R, it would be interesting to see how a Z06 would have done, I think it may have been able to beet the GT-R this definitely gives more credence to Porches claim that nissan cheated as the GT-R was beat bad by the ACR Viper with a time 2:48.6 seconds it was also beat by the 430 Scuderia by 1s. The ZR-1 Corvette should be able to stand up to the ACR Viper. Another note of interest the CTS-V finished just 2.8s behind the Corvette, not bad for a 4269lb sedan, proving GM has the ability to produce cars that act like they have far less weight than they do.

I haven't seen many on here say the Cobalt sucks, but in the Nurbergring trials the Camaro beat the Cobalt SS by 2-3s. Just thought it's interesting that the SRT8 was so badly beaten by the cobalt on such a comparitively short course.

Which amazes me considering when I used to have an SRT-4, it constantly got ragged on but is faster in stock form than the Cobalt SS turbo is today. Although, I would imagine that the Cobalt has the edge in handling.

The Cobalt SS turbo is a badass little car, it always baffled me why they originally used a supercharger over a turbo.
