Question Question on 2009 Malibu???

OK, finally got the wife to go to the dealer to look at the new Malibu. We test drove a 1LT 4 cyl & 2LT V6. She liked both, but thought the V6 drove better. Now, here is where we have a couple questions....
1) Where is this car assembled?
2) What exactly is Ultralux? Sales guy said suede, but didn't really feel like it.
3) are memory seats available?
4) Why did they remove power pedals for 2009?

We drove it at night, so we got to see the light blue ambient lighting, how cool is that! Can't wait to see the orange on the Camaro!

Thanks...

1. It's made in Kansas City and Lake Orion in Michigan (updated)

2. 1LS & 1LT has cloth, Leather / Suede leather seats in the 2LT's, Leather in the LTZ

3. No

4. Good question, but they also removed the fender repeater lights, and moved the dome switch to the dash.

Be sure to drive the 4cyl with the 6 speed auto, that gets you 33 MPG on the HWY. It's not a 6cyl, but it feels closer to it.

You can find a review here:

Thanks Scotty, I was hoping you would see this. One more question....do you know if the 2LT suede is real suede or an imitation? It felt nice and the seats were comfortable.

Malibus are built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas City and Lake Orion Assembly in Michigan...not Lexington, Kentucky...

CamaroScotty, thank you for finally proving that there are some dealers and people who work in them that know their products.

You're excused.

By the way, I think they deleted power adjustable pedals and the side marker because of cost cutting...and when you think about it, power adjustable pedals are perhaps the most useless, pointless thing GM can ever install. Use them once, never touch the switch again...

I hope you get the Malibu, Mike. I drove one and checked it out. Nice car. Great interior, and waaaaaay better looking than the foreign competition, that's for sure!

Malibu just might be my wife's next car. I get the GMS price plus her trade in and cash down and we are looking at financing about 10-11k for it! Cant go wrong with that at all.

Looking at the 1LT with the 4cyl/6 speed auto.

Unless your wife is a lot shorter than you and drives your car. Then you can never find that comfortable spot again....Happens on my truck all the time. She wants to go back and drive them again. Then we have to drive it right to the house to see how it fits in the garage with the truck....
