Is it just me? (GMC Terrain = Kia Sorrento?)

Seriously. Look at the interiors and exteriors and discuss.

Now look at these high res images of the Terrain (won't embed due to size).

What is it with Korea?

There's a vague similarity on the exterior, but they do seem to have the same interior layout.

Why would they copy that and not someone else. I don't see it.

On a side note how do you embed a pic?

Why copy the Terrain? I dunno.
Why copy in general? Because apparently they lack a good design team.
Where are the similarities: Mostly interior and looking at the car from some angles, fenders in a way are the big part.

I first noticed it during a commercial for the Sorrento.

Also Korea habitually copies other countries products to the point of only vaguely disguising them as a copy just enough to circumvent international copyright laws.

From tv to toys to clothes to cars.. it's actually funny.

That's true. I read once that they copied someones car so closely that parts would interchange with the real one. I don't remember who's car it was.

Aside from the fact that cars today look similar in general, I'm not seeing anything that really stands out. BTW, the Terrain looks better inside and out.

I'm defiantly not seeing the interior resemblance.

I would imagine that was Hyundai's Tiburon and Mercury's Cougar.

The Kia's interior looks like something GM would've produced 5 years ago, though.

Aside from being your average two-box nondescript-looking crossovers with four doors, a rear hatch, four wheels/tires, engine and other associated crap that comes with such vehicles (well, okay the Terrain's ridiculously high beltline kinda stands out against the Sorento, but I digress...), I'm not really seeing any resemblance between the two vehicles.

As for this little gem that looks a lot like something I flushed down the toilet a few hours ago...

Seriously? When it comes to ripping off automotive design (or so it seems most things in general these days...), South Korea generally isn't the first country that comes to mind when I hear about it...

Last I checked, these guys are still the masters of blatantly plagarizing product designs from around the world (just try to find a Chinese car on Google that isn't such an obvious ripoff of something else...).
