What I've done is got a contendor for each kind of engine. I picked the best best sounding car for each. For example, representing the V12s is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Watch all the videos before you vote.

I honestly think opinions change as the exhaust note changes per engine. A different exhaust on the V12 could have it. The exhaust on the V8 sounds great, but again could change.
So, which one is the best? Well, out of those w/ those specific types of exhaust, I'd say the V12 and the V8 tie. Not a bad sounding 6 either. |

Then in general, what do you think sounds best? Just trying to make it easier by showing the best for each engine. I just think the V12 sounds so angry.

Why are they all foreign? Sorry, didn't even vote. When I clicked V8 I was poised to hear that deep grumble of sleeping detroit steel. How taken aback was I when I saw Aston Martin?!

Ferrari F355 is a v8, but cylinders are tiny and sounds like an F1 car. The Corvettes V8 sounds completely different. the more cylinders you have, the closer to rotary you sound

Sorry, imo i think the V8 Vantage sounds better than any musclecar I can think of. Feel free to post your own V8 vid.

This isn't really a good post. Take a look at the V8 in the Ferrari F430, it has a TOTALLY different noise than that of a Z06 V8. Same with a V10. The Viper has a V10 that has a low grumble, where a V10 in the Gallardo or Carrera GT has a high-pitch whine. In my opinion, any Italian engine sounds good.

you get what you deserve...
go out get a dude with american engine and record it. you tube ,as hi5 seem proprietary owned to east european teenagers. besides this engine sound test misses the main point : PRICE. Gas costs twice in Europe. And cars thrice. An Aston Martin is easily three times a expensive as an american counterpart for the same engine. Camaro goes 3-40000$, Aston goes 12-140000 $. Do the Math. I so wanna move to the States. |
