Ford had to revise the engine for longitudinal placement in the Mustang, revisions that included a new intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, and accessory drive system. The final outputs will differ from the Lincoln's numbers, and we're guessing the engine will be slightly more potent in the Mustang application.

Indeed. We already know that the engine is a sort of 'gen II light' with improvements in the intake manifold, etc. It produces more power than the unit in the MKS, we just have no idea how much more power it produces.
As for a 300hp rating. Nothing is impossible, but I am looking for 280-290hp, which should be plenty in a Mustang which should come in under 3300lb.
