But to let you know with how it comes, back closed, it will take another person to get him into it. Have him try it on first and see how it is. If it's too big they will swap it for you. If it fits, take scissors and split the back. Then he will be able to get it on by himself. But you, or someone, will want to be there the first time he benches in it to make sure he gets accustomed to it and the weight roll onto his belly or throat at the bottom.

Let you know how it fits. Since he lifts alone, he has two metal sawhorses set at chest height while on the bench. So he can drop the bar, touch his chest, and just as it touches him it rests on the stands. That's incase he ever can't finish the lift, he can still slide out from underneath the bar. It has happened in the past, and if he didn't have those stands he woulda been in real trouble.
I did the measurement according to their posted table and I ordered over the phone, so the person I spoke with said it was correct. But we'll see when it comes in.
