As far as the Malibu looks, it's kind of a twist of fate thing. The guy who designed the VF Commodore also designed the Malibu. It was on VF Commodore first, but got delayed and the Malibu came up and got some of the design cues. When the VF was back on track now people think it follows the Malibu.

Holden Designers Flex Muscles for Athletic Malibu
Wow! That's crazy that he was the one to design both because the Malibu looks a 100% times better and has a muscle look to it! That SS anybody could've did better than!

Coupes are a dying market. I wanted GM to make a Cruze coupe (a more reasonable ask) that I could have gotten as a daily driver, even possibly a Cruze SS (especially after how good the 2008-2010 Cobalt SS was)

but alas I couldn't even get that.
How much did the coupes sell back in the 60's. a month or year?Because I'd say the Camaro and mustang is selling at a profit and really well! Because who the heck is buying 10,00 Camaros in a month? That's a lot of Camaros! And we know coupes has a limited audience because most ppl only want or can afford a all in one car! Most just want a car to get them from point A to point B! This is my weekend car! So I don't have to worry about a point A to point B . This is why Toyota is selling so well nomatter what recall issues they have!
