I read during the development of the Z/28 that the drivers had commented that on the Nurburgring the SS was comfortable hitting the brakes at the 125 foot mark. The ZL1 was around the 100 foot mark. The Z/28 was braking early at the 50-75 foot mark.
My wallet apparently can only afford the 100 foot mark.
When I was in HS I had a Monte Carlo that arguably had a better HP to weight ratio than my 1LE. It also had crap for suspension and brakes it had a ton of tire under it though.
Which car is faster and better in just about every aspect? The 1LE.
I have a bit of a brake, suspension, wheel and tire fetish. To me you need to get all of this squared away before you throw a bunch of power in a car. I learned that it HS. While doing donuts after hitting gears and almost having to come to a complete stop to turn. It did run mid 12's in the 1/4. Not bad for 1989...
Apparently the Ford engineers skipped school that day... lol
