Driving conservative, and having a 60 - 70% highway drive to work I'm averaging 20mpg in my 2006 Colorado crew cab Z71 4 wheel drive truck. Although I just got it a few weeks ago...I need to run a few more tanks though to confirm.

Pretty happy with that. With a modern engine, better transmission with more speeds, and hopefully a little less weight I don't see why I couldn't average 22 or 23mpg out of a comparable setup in this new model. Could probably 1 or 2 on top of that out of a 2 wheel driver version. Sounds damn good to me.

I don't need a full size, but I do have a need for a vehicle with a bed. These things are perfect for me, and in reality probably half of all full size truck buyers would be fine in these as well. There is actually a decent amount of pent up demand for a smaller truck that actually has good reasons to purchase it versus a full size.
