Racing is an inherently dangerous activity. Like skydiving, white water rafting, or any number of other things. You do everything you possibly can to make it as safe as possible but every time you strap in you have to accept that there is a chance it could be your last. The amount of time and effort spent on safety is on par with the time and effort spent on performance but when you put a human is a 2500lbs box and send them flying around at 200+mph science only goes so far. Fatalities in motorsport will never be eliminated.
