LaCrosse has one long, continuous, flowing character line known as the sweepspear, a signature Buick design cue.
Impala has two character lines, both deeply cut into the side panels, with the rear one sharply sloping downwards to create a visual connection with the chrome door trim.
Overall, Impala is a much more sculpted design, while LaCrosse has a more fluidic, smooth design.
LaCrosse is on LWB Epsilon II. Impala is on an even bigger Epsilon II platform that also underpins the Cadillac XTS.
LaCrosse is built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas. Impala is built at Oshawa Assembly and Detroit Hamtramck Assembly.
