Only kidding...! I dig Tombstone. It's been a few years since I strolled though there... looks like a lot has changed! The one guy in front of the Bird Cage seems to have moved to the left about four inches since I was there. Other than that, though... pretty much the same!

I loved Boot Hill... there's a headstone there (which I think has been replicated at Disneyland, and has been shown in movies, I am told...) that reads:

"Here lies Lester Moore,
four slugs from a .44.
No less,
No more."

I asked the ranger there if that was "fer reals," and she confirmed it... said it was legit, showed me pics of that headstone inscription from "back in the day."

Tombstone is very cool, and worthy of road trips. Nice drive... not even too hot out there, either, in spite of looking like desert, the temps are pretty decent year- round. I gotta get back out there soon... you've inspired me!
Actually I was up at the Tonto Natural Bridge with the Arizona All Gens Group the day before. Had I even gone in my Camaro I would have put in the Photos section. I'm going to try to put together a Camaro Run down there in July and see if the Tucson folks want to join. I figure if we get there at 9 AM we can park at the O.K. Corral no problem and it would look BAD ASS!

The interesting thing about Tombstone is that is about 4,500 feet up, that's why its so cool up there. Tucson is at 2,900 feet and Phoenix is at 1,200. The reason these folks lived in the mountains when the area was first settled was not only mining but the temperature was somewhat tolerable.
