Mr. "D", we do not want to bring up Academics and NCAA Football in the same sentences.
When the SWC and the Big8 came together in 1996 it was sad how low the Big8 had set it's academic levels for it's athletic programs. SWC schools demanded the level be raised before they joined. Why do you think Nebraska's program tanked?
A&M has only been a member of the AAU since 2001 and going to the SEC does not help. Like I have said in the past...if a "Blue-Chip" player out of Texas wants to go to the SEC, 9 out 10 times A&M is not going to be his first, second, or third pick. And "YES", A&M has been used by the "SEC because of Academics AND it opens the Texas market to the SEC". Maybe being UT's little stepbrother was not so bad.....but now A&M is going to be "PIMPED" by the $EC.
