Who knows what the C7 will really be like. I suspect that the C7 design team doesn't know yet. Corvette sales are incredibly flat - our club's sponsor used to sell 20+ per month, but they've sold a total of 1 in the past 3 months. The point is, the bean counters at GM aren't going to spend a lot of money on developing the C7 until they're sure that the market will be there. All announcments to the contrary, I think that getting the C7 in '14 is extremely optomistic. But I am hopeful.
And by the way, from someone who does drive a '63 split-window coupe, the split isn't a big deal when it comes to rear vision. Yes, it takes some getting used to, but the real problem with the '63 is the very shallow vertical height of the rear windows and the lack of a passenger-side mirror. Neither appear to be a problem with the concept car. I hope it does make it onto the C7.
