I'm buying a S&W M&P9 for an anniversary gift for my husband (he's not into cars). We shot the H&K P30 and USP but they were both close to and/or more than $1000 each.. Plus Smith & Wesson is offering $50 rebate or two free magazines (it already comes with two) - so I'll take the money. Cheapest price locally is around $525 (b4 discount).
Thankx for listening. Lori

Good choice! Although I'd grab the extra mags, you can never have too many, I think you'll be plenty happy with the M&P!

It's good to at least get the shooter moving in some of these scenarios, too bad IPSC has ventured so far into the realm of fantasy guns.

We qualify with a bit at 25yds, everything else is under, all the way to 3yds. Most shootings happen under 25yds, I think it is 7yds, that is why training happens in that range. For just target shooting, and some of the new handguns available. 150-200yds isn't out of the question at all. For self defense, 25yds is stretching it.
