Headroom is one thing but why take a depreciation hit on a car you 1) don't really want and 2) apparently plan to sell in just one or two years? Why not just get a used car to tide you over or find a car with enough headroom that you actually like?
Mustang or not, that $38+K car new is going to fetch mid-twenties when you go to sell it in 2 years' time.
