Yes and no. As with the other reported cases, some which were previously being dismissed as simply driver error of some sort are now being looked at as being due to unintended acceleration. There are tens of thousands of accidents each year in the US but they rarely get national (or international) coverage. This one did because it was supposedly fixed to prevent just such an accident. The zip tied floor were supposed to fix the acceleration problem (not that I believed floormats were the problem in the first place).
