Basically I've found the majority of people on those sites post bad stuff because they did bad in the class or something.

This is a good point.
To a certain degree, take things with a grain of salt. Also - ask your friends who've taken the class before what prof they had and what they thought of them. And, if your university is like OU, you can always drop the class within the first few weeks and get a refund. Or swap into another professor's class.
