Been deeply into nascar for 30+ years, this has been the case for decades even back to the 50’s and 60’s.
NASCAR has been allowing them to run the ‘24 car but unchanged. Ford and Toyota have both got new body updates since Chevrolet has. They announced the cup chevys were getting updates earlier this year, and low and behold 3 days before they dropped the new cup car, GM drops the CF aero kit the 6th Gen ZL1 which includes a new hood… which of course the cup car got. Definitely for nascar. Study the facts next time…

How about you study the facts next dude!
It has already been announced the update is NOT being called the Camaro. Again repeat after me, IT HAS BEEN PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED THAT THE BODY CHANGES IS NOT TAKING AFTER THE CAMARO ANYMORE! Regardless of what you may think you know, public announcements by those in charge and in the know, have stated you are wrong!
It doesn't matter jack what they release for the Camaro because the body isn't reflecting it anymore. GM is going to announce a new V8 sedan sometime soon and money has it that the NASCAR change is reflecting that. The Camaro getting new aero is just a side effect.
