Well to me points scored should tell the story...what matters in a game? the score of course.

Like the NHL and NBA scoring needs to matter to me its the true evaluation of the NFL's best player.
I understand what you`re saying and it`s true that scorers get the attention and press and are usually considered for MVP, but defensive players have also won MVP honors. (Bruce Smith the king of Bills Mafia Nation!!!)

The '85 Chicago Bears defense is often the standard against which all great defenses are measured.
Sports fans like high scoring games and defensive games are boring. I also like watching a team with a shut down defense.
