Well...it finally happened. I killed my trasmission...somehow
. Long story short, I was doing my regular old driving and it got stuck in 4th. I had no 2nd, 3rd, or 4th once I finally managed to get it out of the stuck 4th. Well, I drove it home w/ only 4th, 5th, and 6th. I've driven a Z28 02 model for about 4 miles through stop and go's, up hills, and all while stuck in 4th. So, I was confident it would make it. It did.
I get it home (this was last week), call the tow company the next morning who picks it up and drops it off at Ancira (where I have all my Camaro work done). They check it out, call my extended warranty company (thank God I got one!)
, get the go ahead to break it down, takes forever to have someone look for it..and here goes. The tranny is apart and the shop says there's no way to tell what broke first....the covered part or the non covered part. You could see the $3,000 dillemma that faced me. :eek:
Luckily, an independant contractor took a look at the tranny for the warranty company. He couldn't determine what broke. Found out today that it is all going to be covered under warranty!!! Oh, thank the Lord!
