1966 C2 needs a good home.

Modern technology and vintage looks make for the best of both worlds in Resto Modding, especially it seems when the object of one’s creative urges is a mid-year Corvette. Whether in coupe or convertible form, the original Sting Ray body style is still as fresh and exciting today as it was when introduced in 1963; when retrofitted with modern powerplants, suspension, brakes, interiors, paint and wheel/tire combinations, the results can be spectacular, as in the case of this 1966 Corvette convertible. The complete frame-off build began with the complete disassembly and preparation of the frame. All the seams were welded and the cleaned-up piece was powder coated Red for maximum durability and to match the car’s mouth-watering Red and White base/clear coat color scheme, including the Stinger stripe on the big-block hood. A 427 CI Generation 5 big block Merlin engine uses advanced Bigstuff3 electronic fuel injection to generate copious power through a close ratio M21 4-speed to a 4.11 rear end. Boyd Coddington 18-inch spoked alloy wheels are used in conjunction with power rack and pinion steering and custom Precision 4-wheel disc brakes, and shorter half shafts are employed to accommodate the car’s wider rear tires. With all those changes, the car’s appearance remains virtually stock, even in the factory-style side exhaust. That theme is maintained inside the superb White on Red cockpit, the only obvious changes being the leather wrapped billet steering wheel, Hurst shifter, White-faced gauges and billet pedals. A well done and very appealing mid-year Resto Mod.
