I'm afraid to ask, trade in on my 06 GTO?

Wonder what they'll give me on a 30K 2006 GTO on trade + 2000 down on a 2010 Camaro....Here's the tricky part---->I owe 16,000 on my GTO

You will likely take a 2K hit on trade so putting 2K down will offset and negate anything against the price of the Camaro.

If you sell private party you will break even on the GTO and then have the 2K to put towards the new ride.

Well, firstly the chally did not hold value lately...second, the camaro is holding value close to MSRP, thirdly, you need a magician, a wizard, or a financer with a trick up their sleeve !! lol

Sell it yourself. They will probably only give you 12K if you trade it in, leaving you to eat the difference owed. Oh and Blue Book is a joke - it's what they want to buy it from you for. Then they'll turn around and sell it to someone else for 18K.

just something to consider, If you trade it in, you may get a tax break if your state only charges sales tax on the "after trade" amount. This may make the difference between selling it yourself and trading it a negligable cost.

I got 17K for my really nice Spice Red '06 GTO w/29,767 miles trade-in 3 weeks ago. Paid $2133, less than MSRP for my Camaro.

Dealer sat my GTO on the lot with a $19,995 price tag. I figure they will get 18.5K.

I figure 15k-17k for the GTO in good to excellent condition.

It's only a joke if you allow them to do that. I use NADA/KBB to get my trade in values. If the dealer is not giving me that price or close then it's no deal. It's as simple as that.

I know a guy that can run the Black Book value for you if you send me the VIN. That's usually what dealers use to price cars. Honestly, you're going to get more for it privately, but you're also going to take longer to sell it. How much is your time worth?

I honestly think they would give me 16K which is what I owe
Then I would get 1280 tax break which is like getting 17200 for the car

Still I think I'm waiting on the Z
Only way I would jump ship now is 0 for 60 months
