Axle back exhaust.
Narrowed my choice between MBRP & AWE. Leaning more towards AWE only because of the T304 stainless. AWE-Track or touring? MBRP-Armor Lite or Armor Plus. Anybody have/had either one.
Appreciate any thoughts, comments. Last edited by Camarobum22ZL1; 01-02-2024 at 05:03 PM. |

AWE Track will drone, the touring system is good-to-go. I had a touring on my 1LE and got plenty of compliments on it. The chrome tips gave up and started to peel on the insides of them after more than a year so I don't recommend it. I have MBRP on my ZL1 in the black coating with the resonator and it's a solid system, is not stainless but I don't care about that. I added MBRP stainless and carbon fiber tips on this one.

I have the AWE track and I love it. I would of considered MBRP but I don't like the extra pipe (to help drone I guess) It's super clean under there now and I love the sound.

Axle Back Exhaust
Definitely go with the AWE system because the MBRP is really loud and has horrible drone. I tried the MBRP on my 22SS and was so loud I took it off after only 5 miles on the car.

Drone is a frequency range that resonates in the confines of the cabin and can literally give you a headache. Loud isn't "drone". |

AWE Touring all day. Its plenty loud, and has such a deep aggressive tone to it. Excellent build quality, and ZERO drone.

Appreciate everyone’s recommendations, and thoughts. Only thing that worry’s me is the polished tips on AWE’s peeling. I like the better stainless used on AWE systems. Not worried about price difference between the 2 brands, just want a good sounding system and something that will hold up. Car will never be in bad weather so maybe I shouldn’t worry about the lesser quality on MBRP.
😡. Gonna have to think about this some more. Thanks again guys. |

Here’s a pic of my tips from a few days ago…literally look like new. And the Touring system is plenty loud with zero drone. @RideWithDanger is spot on.

AWE Touring is what I've had for more than four years now and the sound is still elite. Nothing but compliments.

Another vote for the AWE touring. Loud enough down low, but get on it and she screams! ....shopping for another 6th gen, and the AWE system is first on the mod list.

So after reading as many posts as I could find on Axle back systems, I ordered the AWE Touring w/ polished chrome tips. After searching all the sites who sell, I found the cheapest price from RPI Designs @ $1145.00. Having bought many items from American Muscle and having a gift card from Xmas, I called them and asked if they would match RPI’s price, after they looked it up to confirm, they matched the price. Feel I got a good price. Thanks for all the thoughts, suggestions and opinions. Really helped me decide which way to go.
