Steering wheel pivoted slightly to the right when driving straight

3 alignment corrections, one of which happened at a different shop

2 sets of tires, the newest set has less than 1k miles, also has new 1LE wheels. Both the original and 1LE wheel and tire sets did not correct the issue. I had the most recent alignment done after the wheel install and it had zero effect on the issue.

When driving straight, the steering wheel is pivoted slightly to the right. When I straighten it, I veer to the left fairly hard, like an aggressive lane change hard. When I let go of the wheel however the car does not stray, it continues straight like nothing is wrong.

What could be wrong?

Has your steering wheel been upgraded or been removed before? Maybe reinstalled off alignment?

The steering wheel was removed once while under the Bumper to Bumper warranty because the airbag module came loose and made alot of racket while driving. I don't remember if I noticed the issue right after that though.

Not sure if it's a reputable shop but they need a scan tool to reset the steering wheel angle. When I had my last alignment it was out 4 degrees and they zero'ed it out. My alignment sheet showed the adjustment they made.

Alignment shop should be setting up the alignment with the steering wheel straight . Another test you can do do see if it in fact is a tire thing, just swap the two fronts and see if the steering wheel now if off center in the opposite direction.

Mine has the same issue except to the left.
I had the dealer do an alignment and little changed.

How does one verify if the steering angle was reset?

This isn't rocket science. Off-center wheel can be corrected simply by adjusting the tie rod ends out on one side and in on the other, by the same amount. The alignment can be perfect and the steering wheel be way off if the alignment tech doesn't pay attention to the wheel position BEFORE making adjustments. They need to put the car on the rack with the steering wheel locked in the center position, THEN do a 4-wheel alignment.

If you already have a good alignment but the wheel is off, you can try making small adjustments yourself if you're reasonably competent with a wrench. Shorten one tie rod by a quarter turn, and lengthen the other by the same. If you went the wrong way, the wheel will be worse. Reverse what you did and go the other way in small increments until the offset is gone.

Look at the before and after specs

Be aware that most roads in the US are "crowned" or a bit higher in the center which can require a bit of counter steer (to the left) to continue to go perfectly straight. The higher road center encourages rainwater to run off instead of collecting on the road.

Have the shop reset the steering angle sensor (SAS). Then drive on a flat surface (parking lot, not freeway since the car will have a slight steering angle). See if that fixed your issue.

If not the steering angle can be adjusted up to 3.5 degrees in either direction for correction.

And a good alignment person knows that and sets up the alignment accordingly for the crown in the road.

It could be full of it but a tech once explained to me that with electronic steering the wheel needs zero'ed out electronically. Moving the tie rods to square up the wheel will do nothing unless the sensor reads zero so unless you use a scan tool and set it to within spec which I believe on the Camaro is 3 degrees nothing will change.
Quoted from service repair,
"Also note that the steering wheel position sensor and torque sensor calibration procedures should be performed after an alignment. Complaints such as poor or uneven center "feel" or return to center can also be corrected by performing these procedures.'
