Camarofest oil change for ZL1-1LE folks

I have a question for you that are planning on going to camarofest and doing the Corvette Museum track day.

Are you taking the oil with you and switching it out before the event and then again after?

Are you changing it and driving to and from the event, with the heavier oil?

Just curious what you guys have done, plan on doing, or if you have thought about it.

Get 0w40 ESP and drive there and on track with no track oil change necessary.

I thought we needed to run 15w50 or something like that for the track?

15w50 is fine to drive to/from. They only say not to street drive 15/50 because of higher emissions. I’ve spoken with high level GM engineers who use 15/50 all the time themselves.

If you are a professional driver running in the advanced class, and pulling max G's... maybe.

I'm not at that level yet, but yes the manual does say 15W50 for ZLE and ZR1.

...Especially in the heat of July.

ok, thanks guys. I was concerned about the drive down with 15w40. and I am not sure what g's I pull, but I am not willing to take a chance and have an issue and it be blamed on oil.

I drive hard, but never been on the NCM track, so not sure how hard I will push it, but I would much rather be prepared.
