A6 vs. M6 hp loss?
Haven’t had a Camaro in a while although my fave car in my years past.
I’m in the market for a 2015 ZL1. My question is on the driveline loss between A6 vs. M6. Does someone know the percentages or horsepower loss from one to the other? I did read somewhere the A6 was 17%, but not sure if this is accurate or what the M6 loss % is around? Also I plan on 700rwhp can the A6 handle this? I won’t be going to the drag strip. Just weekend/trackday occasionally fun. If this is not the right thread for this question I apologize in advance. |

M6 is about 12-13% and A6 is 18-20%. You can check out the dyno thread here for stock ones, but it typically works out in those ranges for Dynojet pulls.
A6 will be fine at 700 as far as I know.

Buy the car for the experience u want. My opinion these cars or any high hp car isn’t fun unless it’s a manual. Just my thoughts.

I really like my M6 car. It's really fun to bang thru the gears. I kinda feel like a true muscle car should have a manual transmission, so that's what I bought. I started racing last season, and I really enjoyed that too. I ended up racing a bunch more than I expected. Knowing what I know now, I probably should have started with an A6 instead. The A6 guys with similar mods to my car run faster 1/4 mile ETs and are much more consistent than I am. I'll never get rid of my M6, but I think I would have been a better racer with the A6. YMMV.
