Wheel Spacers?
I'm an old school kinda guy (56 yrs old) and have always liked the look of the rear tires sticking out just a little bit past the edge of the wheel well. I like that stance.
I was contemplating trying out a pair of wheel spacers to achieve that and wondered if anyone has done that here and if so, what your thoughts are on it after having done so. |

Yes,I’m 58 and also old school,I put adapters on mine,I think 7/16 so gives it that staggered look,I was planning on doing it all around front and rear, but after I did the rears decided not to do the front,I did this about 3 years ago,so I do have the adapters and longer studs also if you’re interested. But I love the way they look,I didn’t want it to stick a lot because of slinging debris on the bottom quarter panel.

FYI, changing the geometry with spacers or offset puts additional stress on wheel bearings.

Old school spacers are for solid axles, not for IRS.

Some good input here, thanks.
With the possible wheel bearing complications that Vegas Bound mentions what else could become an issue, Rock-it Man? |

I have been driving with spacers on several cars for many years and I have never noticed a problem. Moreover, it has its advantages. After all, changing backspacing is similar to spacers. Just don't overdo it. |

As long as you’re not going with a lot,and I wouldn’t recommend drag racing with more than a 1 inch or more spacers.I have 7/16 on my rear, and really can’t tell a big difference but it is noticeable.

[QUOTE=George-CZ;10643608]I don't see such a big problem in spacers.

I won't be doing any drag racing, just like the look of the tire coming out to and just past the edge of the wheel well.

Just FYI; wheel spacers are usually less than what you want , a wheel adapter is more what your talking about as far as measurement.... so Check out the information form summit here on this search and its informative description, also maybe the video of the Monte Carlo breaking one drag racing which BTW many tech inspections would not allow for drag racing BTW. As you most likely should they notice them have to show how well they are made and if they are installed right..with certification IMO
Me myself I just use wider wheels and wider tires the Extreme contacts I am running now are 1 1/2 " wider than stock and fill the wheel well better and grip better on 10 1/2" rims. Longer studs are inherently weaker IMO, and spacers are generally like less than 1/2" IMO.... Good Luck The cheaper the spacer/adapter the more like its a real cheap under engineered lump of metal. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...7442ED34258A1E Me I like this guy..LOL https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...D2&FORM=VDQVAP

The Summit video was excellent. There's way more going on with using wheel spacers and adapters than I realized. I'll have to think on this a minute. |
