ZL1-1LE Suspension Upgrades
Hey Guys,
i've been look to do some upgrades to the suspension as i recently learned of "wheel hop" and other deficiencies in the stock suspension of the car. after further research i've stumbled on BMR suspension. Talked to them a few times, researched their products, asked around. im still not sure how its going to help me improve my cars ability and thus mine. My questions are: - Has anyone used BMR on their ZL1-1LE? if so, what did you change and why? - How does upgrading to BMR affect alignment? i know some of their products are adjustable, non-adjustable, etc.. - The other confusing thing for me is. which is best the Spherical bearing, Poly bushing, the Non-Adjustable? - Based on what i've seen, the best and most immediate upgrades to be done are (upper control arm, upper and lower trailing arms, the toe rod and the read toe rod end links) this is what i've learned to be the "biggest" contributors to the decreased stiffness and wheel hop in the rear. - is there a better company that BMR i should look into? i've reached out to GM to learn about the suspension they have on the GTR4R - Race car. im trying to educate myself and hopefully others on here. Thanks everyone in advance for any feedback Drive Safe |

BMR stuff is for real. I have a ton of their stuff on my 99 TA it makes it hook at the track.

Wheel hop is more tire dependent then suspension.
SC 3R .. wheel hop pretty bad PS 4S .. nope of that Sidewall stiffness is huge contributing factor.

I agree. currently running PS4S and a dramatic difference. but i've experienced SC3R on track, once they heat up, a big difference. ive swapped 3 sets already and i dont think the 3Rs are good for street as they advertise. not to mention, i have 3k miles and on my 4th set. 3Rs are track ONLY in my opinion. for the street the PS4s is the better choice. but why should i not worry about the flex of the upper/lower arms? they're not rigid enough as tested by BMR.

Wheel hop where? Hard down shifts into a turn? Ive missed a rev match before and never experienced wheel hop on a hard braking zone like some old live axle cars ive driven.

I felt wheel hop on acceleration with the 3Rs. Put the PS4S on my car and no more rear wheel hop but a ton more slippery sliding in the rear. Lots of fun😁😁😁

Never felt wheel hop myself. Though, I agree the 3R should be considered a track-only tire.

30 track days so far and no wheel hop here, burn out with out trying when there cold yes, sliding in turns when there not up to temp yes, first run of the day at lap 3 or 4 all the time but no wheel hop.

The standard GY F1 SC3 would be a perfect compromise tire to still let you extract most of the ZLE, without long heat up times

Agree. have the PS4S on currently, and they make a world of different. Just not a good trie for the track. Putting the Cup-2s on for the first time this weekend. Want to try them on track, i think they'll do better than the 3Rs
