1LE vs Challenger 392 T/A article?
Any comparos out there of a 1LE vs a challenger 392 T/A? I know the 1LE will kill it on the track, but curious to read an article about the pros and cons of each car from an auto writer.
My coworker just bought a TA and paid $45k for it. I did a search on here but nothing came up. |

They are really nice looking muscle cars but definitely don’t compare to the 1LE doubt they would do a comparison unless it’s fastlane car when they do a mashup!
I was tempted the other day to stop by the dealer and check one out (servicing my ram truck) but got sidetracked with a hellcat and ran out of time.

I think the T/A looks pretty good. My 2nd favorite Challenger design after the Demon/Hellcat widebody. Too big for me though.

The T/A is essentially just a scat pack in different clothing with better tires/brakes (assuming he got the 392 version...) Look up any scat metrics/videos and give the T/A a bit of an edge due to the stickier wider tires. I think they come with squared 275 or 285s compared to the stock 245s found on most scats. Normal scat packs clock around 4.2 0-60 and 12.6 1/4 mile so drivers race with our cars. I really like the scats and their practicality (huge trunk, actual back seat) but the lazy boy esque seats with no option for recaros and uninspiring track capabilities have kept me away from owning one. Wife wants one to replace her Charger RT so I may end up with one yet lol

Its a good looking car, but its still built on a 20 year old mercedez benz 4 door luxury sedan chassis. I would like to see a comparison just for the sake of seeing something different, but it would be an even worse beatdown than the 2018 Mustang GT Perf Pack 1 just took!

I've driven both and I'd say the interior and overall driving experience is much better in a 1LE.
I do actually think the Charger looks just as good, if not a little better tho - But don't tell anyone

Yeah, he got the 392 TA. A bargain version of the full on 392 SRT and better looking. I was strongly considering one but couldn't justify it since it cost more than the 1LE and lacked the performance of the 1LE. Best looking challenger imo. I don't like the wide bodies. Those fender flares just look bulbous and added on. I do like the hellcats but again the price was out of range. For the same price, I would rather get a Corvette Grand Sport.

I've gone back and forth between Camaro and the Charger. It's just because I have a family and plan on adding more to the fam bam later down the road. I want my kids to be into cars as much as I am and figured a Charge with the 392 would be my best bet. I never track or drag race, just like going to shows and spirited runs. There's a Daytona Charger in my town and it looked awesome in orange and I believe he is the only one in my town. I just like to row through the gears so idk but I have heard the new 8speed in them are very nice.

I was looking at the 392 T/A but once I drove the 1LE my mind was made up. Would I like a little more interior space?.... Who wouldn't?! But I love my Camaro.

My buddy has a 392 Charger. Basically, it's got everything a Hellcat does, minus the engine. Same big brakes, wheels, suspension, interior. Very nice car. And yea, dead equal to ours 0-100.

True, however I am a little jealous of his back seats.
