Corvette Stingray C7 for Brother
Hey guys,
To start off it’s great to be on this forum and it’s going to be good talking to all you guys, also I had no idea where to post this so if it is in the wrong area let me know and I will move it. Rite guys I’m on here because my Brother has retired work and finding retirement peaceful and a blessing but also boring. He needs to get himself something to do, so I am going to help him out. He has been in the mechanic trade pretty much for as long as I can remember, working in local garages always loved working on cars. So I want to get him a car to work on keep him busy. Now please bear with me because I am clueless about mechanics and my terminology will me terrible. He has always loved the Corvette Stingray C7. I have been looking online for a beat up old Corvette Stingray C7 RDSauto for sale and there are many to choose from but I don’t know what I am looking at to be honest. What I need to know is a rough price range I should be going for, and then any tips and tricks that will help along the refurbishment. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys.

I don't think you will have much luck finding an old, beat up C7. The only C7's I have seen have always been in impeccable shape, as these are not inexpensive cars and the owners tend to treasure them.
The C7 is the latest generation of Corvette and only came out in 2014. So if you find one that is beat up, well...I wouldn't go anywhere near it. Are you sure he said C7?

OP's post makes no sense and can't be real. Of course, unless the beer is talking.

All that and why come on a C5 Camaro forum and ask that type of question? Between the grammer and question itself, I'm thinking troll.

The last thing you want is beat up C7. I have a 16. There's so much electronics on that car, you don't want a junker. Try corvetteforum.com if you're looking for answers from vette people.

No need to move, I'm sure the mods will take care of it. Head over to the vette forum. A few stories you should look at there to reconsider your C7 decision. In all honestly, if your brother is looking for a project, a C5 Z06 will make a hell of a beast.

I wouldn't buy him a beat up Corvette of any year to be honest . Here is my reasoning . Unless he has a lot of money to spend on a project it's not a good idea. Vette's of any year are expensive to keep up let alone rebuild.
Your heart is in the right place . Retired folks are usually on a fixed income. Ya they may have a bit extra to travel and what not but the money has to last until they die. Throwing money at a Corvette fixer upper that's a tough one. Before you do this I think you should sit down with him and see if this is what he really wants to do. Just my 2cents take it or leave it.
