Hey guys. I can confirm, it's NOT sale pending. Some goofball on ebay made offer, then after it was accepted. He called the next day and blamed it on his brother in prison. pm me if you're interested in the car.

Huh? Brother in prison? That's strange - its usually "the wife" who is the excuse for deadbeat buyers.

It's probably not a bad deal at all, but unless you just want to have a rare car (mind you one that runs pretty good), its hard to justify a Z/28 when the 2017 1LE just matched it (or beat it I forget) around Laguna Seca. You get a lot more features with the 1LE.

Ill preface this by saying I am not a Z28 fan and I just dont get the appeal(not a track guy) so I would agree with you unless you were actually tracking the car. That same 1Le would be 10 seconds behind that Z28 after 3 laps due to brake fade.

That is a good point that I overlooked.

Many of the pre-production (VIN starts in 699---) were thrashed as test vehicles, , press vehicles or otherwise abused. Then sold off in late 2014 at the GM auction.
This one however looks to be pretty cherry and pampered. And also looks to be a/c equipped.

I am glad that prices on these have settled down some. Whether $50k is a good price or starting point for negotiations remains to be seen.

What evidence do you have that a car that no one even owns yet brake fades after 3 laps? Just wondering. I can do 30 mins on Watkins Glen in my 1LE with stock set up (race pads though) and no braje fade at all. Why would the Gen 6 brake fade?

All the options!
I remember Sunday morning TV commercials, "Radio! Heater! Whitewalls!"

It's an OK Deal. Last Fall during the 20% Off Sale, there was a New Z/28 at a local Dealership that could have been had for $50k

I remember buying a loss leader Chevy truck off an Ad that didn't have air, radio, automatic, or a rear bumper.

Salesman was trying to bait and switch me into something higher priced. I said , nope, give me the truck in the ad.

The test driver for Motor Trend commented that the 6th gen 1LE did have some fade, as well as a twitchy throttle, which actually kept the car from placing higher.
