DYNO NUMBERS 439HP/412TQ

I have a few upgrades on my 210 miles 2015 1LE
American racing headers with high flow cats
SLP CAI and dyno tune
Car made 439 HP and 412 TQ
6.2

I understand these are great numbers and yes the tuner used EFI live for LS3 with 3.91 gear. But I had an 2005 Vette that made 411 hp 398 tqand it seemed so much faster it had melrose headers with high flow cats, CAI and CAM.
6.0

Is the weight that much of a factor or is the cam making the car fly?
input please

well the 439 seems high and yes your 1le is about 600 lbs heavier than the vette and that makes a big difference.

It's the weight. I had a 2002 Z06 with mild cam, long tubes, intake and tune. And it made similar numbers as your vette. The difference is that the Z06 was like 3100lbs vs the 1LE at 3900lbs. The Camaro feels quick once you get up in the peak torque range but down low it will feel more sluggish comparared to the vette due to all the additional weight.

Despite its weight the 1LE handles awesome though, it is just not as tossable if you know what I mean.

You would basically need ZL1 power to match the performance of your Corvette. That is how much penalty you get for the weight.

OP, if you only have 210 miles on the car, and you're already this disappointed, I doubt you are going to get over it with a cam. Maybe a supercharger . . .

What was the temperature when you did the dyno pulls? Cool air and cool engine will make a huge difference.

doesn't adding something like a supercharger compound the problem? you increase the HP, but you also add a good amount of weight to an already heavy car.

kind of off topic, but i always wondered what advantages, if any, a 5th gen camaro had over any the last few generations of corvette. i vaguely remember justice pete saying something along the lines of the 5th gen camaro putting down power through corners significantly better than the 6th gen vette.

Generous dyno. As simple as that. Plus its a lot heavier. Mine made 370rwhp with more boltons. Maybe you are tuned on 93 which gives you some hp, but I have a pulley good for 8 9rwhp every time. Point is, pretty sure both cars are equal or drivers race with 69rwhp between both.

tune is 91 octane gas and it was cool around 80 degrees during dyno in shop where dyno was just installed and calibrated.
Newer shop and its all wheel dyno.
The tuner helped develop EFI live so he knows the software pretty well.
Most ale cars I see with similar mods are within 5hp on internet
I am not disappointed by dyno numbers.
I say it because I new a guy that made 1400HP in 1971 cud but couldn't get the car to track so it was worthless. My moms station wagon could beat him to stop sign.
I just miss the fly by the seat of your pants feel I had with all my C6 vettes
that is why I reverted to the weight question.

Two 2015 1LE's on 91 octane dyno tuned by highly capable tuners. IMO, those numbers are legit. I know silverbullet415's tuner and he is outstanding.

He tunes in SSF and Hayward.

I grew up in San Jose and met Matt about 20 years ago when we both had 4th gen Z/28's. Matt's been designing and tuning for a long time.
