Impressions of MRC Tour Mode
Does the relaxed Tour Mode setting of MRC really turn the car into a supple ride? I mean does the Camaro suddenly drive like a Caddy when in this suspension mode? I like the idea of being able to change the character of the ride depending on the mood I am in. If it will drive like a caddy one minute and then a track car the next then I am sold on MRC.

Yes and no - maybe not like a lounge chair Caddy but definitely a much smoother and less jarring ride for the car.
I had a ZL1 with the Mag Ride and loved it. Very noticeable difference in the settings - and the track/performance mode settings are awesome. There is a reason the technology is used by high end manufacturers including Ferrari.

Driving around in Chicago crappy roads I notice some differences in ride quality between tour and sport, but I notice the steering changes more.
Coming right out of a 2012 GS I ran in sport all the time. So I may be biased and used to a harsher, well, firmer overall ride. |

Suspension modes do make a pretty huge difference. Tour mode it is more comfortable than sport/track mode but it doesn't make it a lincoln town car.

I didn't know the Camaro came in a 4 door sedan. in your discription you note a coupe.

Haha, yeah. A lot of misconceptions about the MRC. It is still a GODLY system and one of the MAJOR reasons I got the 2SS, if not. I would've waited for the "ZL1" (1LE is great sure, but I like my bells and whistles :P). People expect it to turn from a ferrari FXX to a Lincoln towncar with a button switch.

Thanks for feedback. So, it sounds like the MRC changes to the ride are subtle, but still noticeable.

Subtle for some, for others more so. Definitely worth the price in my view, especially if you have any intention of tracking the car.

MRC is great...again, it is not night and day difference, but it is definitely noticeable. Tour is very, very comfortable to drive in on most roads, I am amazed how comfortable the ride is.

i didnt really notice too much difference in the ride modes until recently (1100 miles). I do not know if it just me getting familiar to the chassis or the suspension broke in, i feel like it rides softer than when it was new.
now i notice the shock through the cabin when hitting a bump or hole is much less frequent in tour than track. what else is noticeable is the extreme amount of overall composure of the chassis when hitting the bump in any mode. Last edited by 6spdhyperblue; 03-02-2016 at 10:00 AM. |

Having severe back problems I'm sure I am a lot more sensitive to ride than a lot of people. To me it's a huge difference. My wife also commented that she didn't mind being a passenger in this car, unlike my 2010 that "beat the shit out of her"

LOL...I have back issues too and I guess I notice it more as well since having a bad back. My wife has said the same thing as well, wow this is really a comfortable ride. MRC is awesome, and helps us with bad backs even more!

My wife used to say she felt like a bobble head in my Gen 5 going over bumps. Not the case anymore with the MRC
