LT4 performance estimates.

What do you think an LT4 powered Z Car will run? Just to compare A stock A8 Z06 has Ran a 10.4

Depending on the stock street tires..estimated 4,000lbs curb (3,750 + 250 in engine, brakes, etc)..

With the A8 on street tires..11.6x-11.7x @ 120mph

On DR's..11.3x-11.4x @ 122mph

On full slicks and skinnies..10.8x @ 124 mph.

Assuming good prep.

I'm thinking it will be around 3950 lbs and run about a 11.7 at 125. That's my guess

I'm guessing 645 hp/tq at 3985 lbs.
0-60 in 3.7
1/4 mile in 11.6 at 124

Hero run of ~10.9 stock on stock tires is about right if its ~4000 lbs.

zo6 hero run is 10.4 I believe at ~3500lbs.

Lot of other variables...but should be about .5 tenths slower looking at just hp and weight.

Should be too close to call with a hellcat. Give the edge to the cat on a DR and the edge to the lt4 zl1 on stock tires.

Just my guesses...

I recently saw a hellcat on the showroom...looked awesome. I hope the new ZL1 lives up to its performance and looks when compared to the hellcat. I also recently drove a non scat pak challenger, and was not impressed with the driving...it was a boat!

Chevy shocked everyone with the performance of SS. They either wanted to dominate or expected more from Ford. Makes ya wonder how they will respond to the GT500 and Hellcat.

I'm fully expecting a 10.9 stock run in the right conditions with the A8. Tires/lower Pully/tune/intake and you have a low 10 second car. Pretty nasty. I'm really hoping that offer a "track package" with some weight loss and carbon brakes.

Yeah tell me about it, I loved my RT Challenger in the straight roads and riding around town though.

Waiting for next year to decide on the ZL1 or Hellcat or anniversary SS.

I just pray it's worthy of the ZL1 name, i.e. bulletproof. The LT4 so far has proven rather fragile (in conjunction with the auto trans).

I wonder, what percentage of deployed LT4 engines have had issues.

I don't doubt the relative number is small, but the absolute number based on anecdotal data on corvetteforum.com is already too high. And could possibly be higher amongst the majority of A8 owners who probably never track their cars.

Like it or not, GM took took the Z06 cake out of the oven before it was fully baked.
