Catless Supercharger sound/smell?
Hey guys,
So currently I am boosted, Maggie 2300, running SW headers, Hi-flo cats, Magnaflow Comp 3 inch exhaust. Wondering what it sounds/smells like running catless? Or just gutting the cats? I have been told I will probably burn them out anyways, that they either melt or clog on most guys. If anyone has some videos of the sound that would be very helpful! Is it too raspy? Too Loud? Thanks in advance!

I don't have the same SC, but I run LT headers, no cats and SLP loudmouth II axle back exhaust. Mine is not raspy at all.
Here's mine on the dyno I guess a video from behind would give you a better example of the exhaust sound, but I don't have one. The smell isn't bad, but you know it's there with the windows down. My wife said it smelled like her dad's old Chevy truck, carb/gas smell. But driving with the windows up, you'll have no idea. |

I have a Whipple, LS9 cam, and full OBX system (LT's, X-pipe, 3"dual exhaust) gutted cats. No raspiness that I can detect. Smell does remind me of an old school carb setup, just not as strong smelling. It smells great when you run race gas, though!!

I have the New SLP setup with Stainless Works headers, No Cats and the retro cutback.
The System is loud, No rasp. But the Smell is definitely noticeable like others stated. It does remind me of an old school car. Raw fuel smell! 10lbs boost, 96lbs injectors

I removed the hi-flow cat from my set up with cat deletes. Adjusted tune and I don't smell any different. Love it.

No Cat's with my Corsa Exhaust and it sounds great. With Minimal Additional smell to the exhaust. However when i just first catless with my stock cat back and my SLP Loudmouth 1's axle backs I did notice a good bit additional smell to the exhaust.

How much sound increase is there when going from high-flow cats to catless?
