kooks headers

I have a pair of kooks headers from my 20111 SS. Will they fit my 2013 zl1?

Not necessarily. When did you get them? The early kooks headers did not fit the ZL1. They were redesigned around mid 2012 to fit both SS and ZL1.

Be sure and get some thermal socks and better wires - cylinder 3 wire will melt down. I have the socks and JDP wires. It finally gave out while on the Power Tour (~3000 miles) but thank goodness I was ready for it. I kept my stock wires in the trunk. You may want to use header wrap as well. Not sure how much that helps but wish I had it on at least where it touches on #3. You will also need to remove the clip on the steering shaft as it hits the headers. Pretty minor stuff.

Is this a normal problem with headers?? I feel like you could get them ceramic coated and that would take care of the heat soak issue..

Recently installed Stainless Power headers required nothing other than reusing the stock spark plug wires which have heat shields. Other brands I have installed required aftermarket wires and cool socks.

Install Holley angled Plug wires and you probably wont need the socks,

That's no good! You'll be good with our wires!

We don't "need" to change the wires with ARH, Dynatech, KOOKS or Stainless Works but there are wires out there that out perform the factory wires, provide additional clearance as well as thermal capacity.

We use a 135 degree boot in our wire sets that we suggest for headers but we also include the socks for added protection.

Wow - looks like I ordered the wrong set. Someone sent me the link to order the ones I did - lesson learned. Ordering some through JDP now. I know others have also posted the same issues that I have had.
