Elite2 CC pictures ZL1

Has anyone installed the Elite 2 CC on the drivers side with a CAI installed, if so, do you have any pictures, I'd love to see how you mounted the can. I was hoping to mount mine on the stud that is not used after taking the stock intake off, there's not a lot of room left now that i see (the heater hose in the way) ?? thanks

Good post! I was wondering the same thing. I saw a post several months ago where someone mounted theirs inside their roto fab cai, which is what I have. Just received my Elite 2 CC but havent been home to install yet. My thought was since you had to unscrew the bottom catch cup off the Elite 2 it would be difficult inside the intake filter housing.

I ordered my elite from tyler at JDP Motorsports, with the G8 mounting bracket. he said this is not an uncommon mount for the ZL1. I told him i wanted to use the un-used stud to mount it. However, there is a hose that comes up and goes to the firewall in the way if you try this mount setup. I would think mounting inside of the roto-fab, you would have to take the unit off every time you would empty.. I didnt want to mount it off the radiator bolt in front is the reason i thought I'd do the drivers side setup..

Ok, gotcha. Thought you were looking to do it because putting it in a cooler area increases the amount of oil the CC catches. Read that in a different thread, but also read the Elite 2 is so good you dont necessarily need to do that.

I worked on this yesterday afternoon and finally decided to use a zip tie to pull the ac line over toward the inner fender panel under where the hot battery cable is located. Then I used a spacer on the mounting stud to get it as high as possible away from the ac hose. I shortened the two 42inch stainless braided hoses approx 8 1/2 inches for a good fit. some are pictures attached.. Most people apparently use the roto fab intake and there must be more room on the one side as opposed to the CAI. I wanted to mount the E2 on the drivers side as opposed to using the front radiator method. Anyway I think its going to work out great.

Jim...I put mine on the passenger side because my Lingenfelter intercooler reservoir is mounted on that stud. I used the LS3 bracket and one of the lower bolts that goes to the AC compressor for a solid mount. I've had people ask me if it was a factory location.

The bolt size is M10x1.5x105mm which is an alternator bolt in the help section at Advance Auto. The spacer is a 1"x3/8"x1". Hope this helps someone.

Hey JD-ZL1, the E2 has 3 ports you can plug into the catch can right? One for inlet, one for outlet and one other connected to help at WOT... Am I right??? Is there a reason why you are only running 2 ports and not 3? I am really in the fence about ordering this or the Apex

That looks nice, that's our G8 Driver's Side mounting bracket.
