TPMS, get what you pay for.
I was trying to save some money when I switched over to my winter wheels and tires, so I bought some tire pressure monitors on ebay. Here is the listing
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141417233714...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Anyway on to the story. Today I had my winter set up installed and at first the monitors were working great. But about 15 miles down the road the service tire system light came on. Three of them just said -- while one showed 35psi. Well about a mile later the fourth one went to --. Now all of them are gone. So I guess I got bad sensors. Cant imagine all of them dying. But the price I payed did seem to be too good to be true. But seeing as they have sold a lot of them and have 100% feedback, I figured I'd try them.

Question when the old tires and sensors come off and the new ones are put on. Does the dic inside show the new info immediately or does it take a while. I ask this for two reasons. One they all quit about the same time. And secondly, before they stopped showing psi they said 35-36 on all four corners, but the paper I got from the tire shop says they only filled them to 32 psi. So is it possible the tire shop did not initialize the sensors and so my car cannot read them yet? And if so is all I need to have them do is use the relearn tool on them. Or do the tires need unmounted to initialize the sensors?

I know my sensors tell me my tire pressure is low and it's not. I think it's the cold weather. Only happens in the winter. I have never heard of all the sensors just failing like that. Maybe with new sensors they do need to be unmounted. Not sure, sorry. Excellent question though.

That's exactly what happens when you don't relearn the new sensors. It takes a while and then they all eventually display -- .
Hopefully you can get them relearned and it's an easy fix. Later, Brad

No Big O Tires did it for me. But if I go to my local dealership, will they do it for me? Will they charge me anything.

Some will do it for free, it just depends on the service guy.

I know sometimes the sensors take a while to adjust. When I took off my 22"s ( with sensors) and drove to work, about 15 miles, and right before I got to work was when the car realized there was no sensors.

So will it require unmounting the tires?

Definitely sounds like they did not relearn your car to the new tpms. My dealer did it for free when I bought new wheels with tpms already installed. The dealer can do it in five minutes with their relearn tool, no need to unmount the tires. Or ask the tire place that fitted the wheels to do it.

Well the tire place is 30 miles away. The town I work in has a Chevy dealership downtown.

Try this. Go to TPMS screen on dash. Push in button on end of turn signal and hold till screen ask if you want to relearn TPMS. Click on yes. horn should blow once. let some air out of RF tire until horn blows once. go to RR LR then LF and do the same. after single horn blow on LF,horn should then blow twice to signal ok. This works on my 2011 Camaro. You can then refill tires or[hopefully] have enough air left to get to a filling ststion. Hope this helps.

What year is your car op? Anything past '11 you need the tool to reprogram the sensors. (The above method will not work) That's how mine looks without the sensors in there. Stop by a tire store and they will do it for you.
