valves looking bad i think

so i was wiping down my engine bay and was wondering how my valves look. so i went ahead and looked in there to find out how clean or dirty they were.
i installed a catch can when i had 350 miles on the odometer.i now have 26,000 miles on her(yes i drive alot) and my catch can picks up a good amount of oil or whatever it is so i know my catch can is functioning properly. here are the best pics that could get.

Yeah. Thats about what mine looked like before seafoam. This is gonna happen with our cars because of the way fuel is distributed. Fuel never soaks the valves or intake. So to me, a top end cleaning is a requirement every 25k kind of deal to me.

I would try running a few tanks(or going forward) of 93 if you dont use it already. I used the seafoam guide on here myself and it was easy. Drive the hell out of it on the last step. You dont want any of that carbon build up to end up in your cats. Good Luck. Id love to see a before and after on here. I think it would be the first.

Which catch can do you have, curious to know as it may not be performing as well as it could or should be.

All of the catch cans pick up something, some pick up more than others. Mine collects approx. 1 oz per every 1000 miles. I don't have anywhere near that amount of oil build up on my valves. I am thinking your catch can is not performing as good as it should.

Here is a picture of one of my valves after 46K, and I did not have a catch can for the first 13K miles of my engines life.

Which is why I am concerned maybe your catch can of choice is not performing as good as others on the market.

Cheaper to have a good catch can than to perform an upper engine clean-up.

Keep us updated on what you do.
